Created from the winning entry to our 2010 Children's Garden Design Competition and built to be fun, educational, and environmentally friendly.
The essential elements include: a willow den for play; giant bug hotel and viewing hut for bird and wildlife watching, as well as a place for doing homework on hotter days; a seating area to 'chill' and the life supporting water feature. The pond is essential as a source of water for the wildlife encouraged into the gardens and has been enhanced by adding misting pumps.
The garden is planted with various trees, shrubs and perennials to attract wildlife at all times of the year, such as Agastache, Nepeta, Lavendula, Achillea and Lythrum. The mulch around the plants acts as a hiding place for beetles and other insects during the heat of the day.
