Group visits
Group entry to the Gardens requires advanced booking. The following information will help in planning your visit and we are always happy to tailor the experience to ensure that for your particular Group’s interests are met.
Planning your visit
We recommend a minimum of 3 hours to cover the Gardens, Nursery, Gift Shop and Tea Room - although most groups stay much longer! It is also possible to arrange an exclusive Group visit outside of normal opening hours.
Guided Tours
We are always delighted to arrange guided tours, which give an exclusive insight into the Gardens. Tours are led by Barnsdale’s owner, Nick Hamilton, and last for approximately 2 hours. The inclusive cost of day garden entry and tour for up to 25 people is £237 and for up to 50 people is £450. For evening tours the inclusive cost is £287 for up to 25 people and 550 for up to 50 people.
Parking
There is ample parking for coaches. A member of staff will meet and assist the Group on arrival. Coach drivers are welcome to visit the Gardens and have a tea or coffee free of charge.
Entrance Fees
Groups: £4.50 per person (10 adults or more)
Children: £1.50 per person (under 16)
Group Evening Visit: £7.00 per person (minimum 20 adults)
The entrance fee includes a map of the Gardens. Although we allow individual RHS and HDRA members free access to the Gardens, this concession does not apply when they are part of a visiting group. Barnsdale Gardens’ Visitors Card holders are admitted free when they are part of a visiting group.
Booking Procedure and Payment
A £30.00 deposit per Group is required to secure the booking. This is only refundable if Barnsdale receives notice of cancellation at least 14 days prior to the visit.
All provisional bookings will be confirmed by email and will only be secured when the deposit is received. The balance, less the deposit already paid, is due on arrival, and payments are accepted in cash, by cheque or by credit card.
