Group entry to the Gardens requires advanced booking. The following information will help in planning your visit and we are always happy to tailor the experience to ensure that your particular group’s interests are met.
Planning your visit
We recommend a minimum of three hours to cover the Gardens, Nursery, Gift Shop and Tea Room - although most groups stay much longer! It is also possible to arrange an exclusive Group visit outside of normal opening hours.
We are always delighted to arrange guided tours, which give an exclusive insight into the Gardens. Tours are led by Barnsdale’s owner, Nick Hamilton, or Head Gardener Jon Brocklebank and last for approximately two hours.
The inclusive cost of day garden entry and tour for up to twenty five people with Nick is £500, with a supplement at the usual group rate per each extra person for groups larger than twenty five. Tours with Jon are £350 for up to twenty five people with a supplement at the usual group rate per each extra person for groups larger than twenty five.
For evening tours with Nick, the inclusive cost is £550 for a minimum twenty people and up to twenty five people; for every extra person over the twenty five, the cost is £9. Evening tours with Jon cost £400, plus £9 per extra person for groups larger than twenty five.
There is ample parking for coaches. A member of staff will meet and assist the group on arrival. Coach drivers are welcome to visit the gardens and have a tea or coffee free of charge.
Groups: £7.50 per person (20 adults or more)
Children: £4.50 per child (under 16)
Group Evening Visit: £9.50 per person (minimum 20 adults)
The entrance fee includes a map of the gardens.
Although we have several offers for entry to Barnsdale Gardens throughout the year, these do not apply when visiting as part of a group. However, 'Friends of Barnsdale' card holders are admitted free when they are part of a visiting group.
Booking Procedure and Payment
A £50.00 deposit per group is required to secure the booking. This is only refundable if Barnsdale Gardens receive notice of cancellation at least 14 days prior to the visit.
All provisional bookings will be confirmed by email and will only be secured when the deposit is received. The balance, less the deposit already paid, is due on arrival, and payments are accepted in cash, by cheque or by credit card.
